A main objective of the BIP is to provide support to national decision makers in the development and use of biodiversity indicators. As well as the development of guidance documents and this website (the National Biodiversity Indicators Portal), the BIP is involved in a series of regional capacity building workshops to assist countries in selecting and producing indicators for their Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans and for international reporting to the biodiversity related Conventions.

The BIP has a wealth of experience in national indicator capacity building. The Partnership has run a series of regional workshops across the globe and engaged with over 45 countries.

BIP Regional Workshops on information and indicator use in NBSAP updating

The BIP will run a series of regional capacity building workshops in support of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 on  indicator development as part of the NBSAP updating  process.

BIP Support to CBD NBSAP Updating Workshops

The CBD Secretariat has been running a series of regional workshops in order to facilitate the revision of Parties’ National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) in line with the 2011-2020 Strategic Plan for Biodiversity. The BIP Secretariat has been assisting the SCBD with the workshops, namely providing guidance on the development and use of indicators in national target setting and NBSAP enhancement.
